I am thrilled to be KAMSC's 5th director since it's inception in 1986.  I come to KAMSC with a background in Math, Science, and Leadership.  I began my career as a high school Math and Science teacher at Otsego High School where I taught for 9 years.  Two of my accomplishments during that time was being accepted to sail on an ocean research vessel, the JOIDES Resolution for two weeks from Victoria, Canada to Acapulco, Mexico.  While sailing, we learned from many university professors how research was conducted on the ship as well as an in-depth look at the history of global climate change.  The second point of pride for me was developing a system of support for Algebra I students at Otsego High School, called Math Lab, where we took failure rates from 51% to less than 14% in one year's time.  I then moved into leadership becoming the assistant principal at Otsego High School for a couple of years and then on to district level leadership where I was the Director of Instruction for all pk-12 at Otsego Public Schools for 12 years.

Starting at KAMSC this fall (2024) marks the beginning of my 24th year in education and I feel like I am getting back to my roots with a focus on math, science and computer science here at KAMSC.  I'm most excited to learn about each of our students here at KAMSC and see all that they will accomplish.
On a personal note, I live in Oshtemo with my husband, Craig and two son's Rowan (16) and Cain (13).  My boys are very active in things like band, sports, work, and school.  I love to run, hike and read.  I have a personal goal to run a race in every state.  This summer I checked Idaho off of my list making 37 completed!
