Susan Fisher, KAMSC Outreach Specialist, held several positions at KAMSC (between subbing and a couple other jobs) in the early 90’s, and joined the staff in 1993 as manager of the KAMSC summer program and GISMO, our annual conference to introduce middle-school girls to STEM professionals. She still does both of those things and has at various times also subbed for KAMSC colleagues, helped out with 26 (and counting) years of the 9th grade bog field trip and various other extra-hand tasks at KAMSC.
Ms. Fisher is geeked about all things science, truly appreciates reptiles, is massively curious about space and the cosmos, and wants to make the summer program best-of-kind and then some. She is also an urban farmer with a Saturday business at the Kalamazoo Farmers’ Market, sings with Kalamazoo Community Chorale and Songsisters, and enjoys chasing her great-grandkids around places like the Nature Center. In her spare time, she learns something new every day.
